Our World - Think, Include, Contribute
The project “Our World – Think, Include, Contribute” was submitted by the Blue Sky Youth Network as an application for FIOOM and World Bank’s Youth Combating Social Inclusion Programme. The project was implemented under the mentorship of Polio Plus – movement against disability and in partnership with the “Youth of Red Cross” – Skopje and was implemented in Skopje and ten other Blue Sky Local Clubs.
The aim of the project was to raise the awareness of the members of the Blue Sky Youth Network and high-school students in general about the problems, needs and rights of people with disabilities. It also aimed to encourage young people to initiate activities that will include the youngsters with disabilities. The duration of this project was six months, from November 2007 until April 2008.
The project implementation was in three phases. The first phase was about training for peer educators that included 2 representatives of each of the BSLC involved in the project. The second phase started immediately after the training. It included organization and implementation of educational workshops by the trained peer educators in their own Local Clubs. The last, third phase was a final activity in Skopje, called “Let’s Touch the Sky”.
The Project Team that was leading all activities was chosen by opened call for members for the Project Team. After the selection, the project team was formed. Its members were: Natasha Pavlovic, Jelena Milojevic, Stojan Petrevski and Sterja Dimov.
The election of the Blue Sky Local Clubs that took part in this project was also public and organized through opened call for all Blue Sky Local Clubs. After the selection the chosen Blue Sky Local Club were: Gevgelija, Delcevo, Berovo, Valandovo, Kocani, Vinica, Strumica, Radovish, Stip, Kriva Palanka, Prilep, Veles and Kumanovo.
