WHAT IS BLUE SKY YOUTH NETWORK???
The Blue Sky Youth Network is independent youth nonprofit and nongovernmental organization with a clear vision of building a civil society in which young people play an active role. We empower young people from diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds with opportunities to develop their talents and skills, and prepare the new generation of leaders and active citizens. The Blue Sky Youth Network was initiated in 2002 by The British Council Macedonia, and in March 2007 was registered as an independent organization.
Vision of Blue Sky Youth Network is: “Building a civil society in which young people plays an active role.”
Mission of the Blue Sky Youth Network is: “Blue Sky Youth Network stimulates young development by creating possibility for personal development, promoting positive values and supporting creative ideas.”
The Blue Sky Youth Network is designed to work on local, national and international level. The Network is completely youth led. The Blue Sky Management Board is there to create the long term strategy of the Network. The Executive Board of the Network assist and implements the strategy. On local level Blue Sky has Local Clubs. Every Blue Sky Local Club has its own local structure that answers the needs of the club such as: Local coordinator, Local PR, Membership Officer etc. Our target group are youngsters between 15 and 27 years.
Areas of Blue Sky Youth Network work:
- Encouraging personal development of young people.
- Promoting positive values.
- Youth participation on creating and implementation youth policies.
- Institutional development and organizational strengthening of Blue Sky Youth Network.
WHAT KIND OF ACTIVITIES AND PROJECT DOES THE BLUE SKY YOUTH NETWORK WORK ON???
The projects and activities of the Blue Sky Youth Network have involved thousands of young people from every part of the country. Members of the Network have participated in projects in arts, environment, European integration, science, IT, community works etc. With these activities we have shown that young people can be responsible; have the capacity to organize projects; that they can take an active role in the society we live in. The Blue Sky Youth Network also offers opportunities to improve participants' English and make contacts with professionals from different walks of life, both in and out of the country. The activities are excellent chance to meet new people, to make new friendships and to travel around the world.
WHAT IS A BLUE SKY CLUB???
The Blue Sky Local Club is a small community of Blue Sky Members that live in the same city and jointly work on different Blue Sky project and live with the Blue Sky Spirit through the years. Every Blue Sky Local Club has its own local structure that answers the needs of the club such as: Local coordinator, Local PR, Membership Officer etc.
There are currently 35 Local Clubs in the Network: 32 for high school (all around Macedonia), 2 for university students and 1 for alumni members. The Local Clubs belong to one of the six regions:
- Region 1> Skopje, two Uni Clubs and Alumni Club.
- Region 2> Berovo, Delcevo, Vinica, Kocani, Probistip, Stip, Makedonska Kamenica, Sveti Nikole and Pehcevo.
- Region 3> Veles, Negotino, Kavadarci, Strumica, Radovis, Valandovo and Gevgelija.
- Region 4> Tetovo, Gostivar, Kumanovo, Kriva Palanka and Kratovo.
- Region 5> Bitola, Prilep, Krusevo and Demir Hisar.
- Region 6> Resen, Struga, Ohrid, Kicevo, Debar and Makedonski Brod.
WHO ARE THE MEMBERS OF BLUE SKY YOUTH NETWORK???
Our target group are youngsters between 15 and 27 years from Macedonia. The High school and university students, as well as young professionals from all parts of the Republic of Macedonia, from diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds, with various and diverse interests, who work on different projects contributing to the development of the community. There are also a smaller number of Blue Sky Members in the UK and South-East Europe countries.
HOW CAN I BECOME A MEMBER???
